The ranking of China’s congested cities was released, and the first place was it.

Recently, Baidu Map released the 2023 China Urban Traffic Report, which was jointly compiled by Beijing Traffic Development Research Institute, Traffic Big Data Research Center of Tsinghua University Data Science Research Institute and Baidu AI Cloud. This report selected 100 major cities in China to objectively reflect the changing trend of urban traffic through big data.Beijing still ranks first in the most congested cities.

According to the report, in 2023, the top ten cities with traffic congestion during peak commuting hours were Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Wuhan, Changchun, Nanjing, Xi ‘an, Shenyang and Lanzhou, among which the congestion index of Beijing, the first one, increased by 20.13% year-on-year, the actual speed of peak commuting was 24.26km/h, and the congestion index was 2.125, far exceeding other cities. Lanzhou has become the city with the fastest rising congestion ranking, ranking up by 36 places.

The top ten cities with traffic congestion on weekends are Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Beijing, Xi ‘an, Chengdu, Chongqing, Hangzhou, Dali, Wuhan and Leshan. The congestion index of Guangzhou, the first city, increased by 19.59% year-on-year. The actual speed of peak commuting was 31.99km/h, and the congestion index was 1.681. Wuhan became the fastest-rising city in the weekend congestion ranking, ranking up 36 places.

In addition, Guangzhou, Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai and Chengdu ranked in the top five in the 2023 list of trans-city migration cities; Dalian, Qingdao, Chongqing, Lanzhou and Tianjin rank in the top five in the list of cities with traffic lights, with the shortest waiting time at intersections and the highest traffic efficiency; Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xi ‘an and Shenzhen are among the top five cities in the Green Travel Intention Index.
