On the afternoon of September 12th, the new M7 from AITO was officially launched and delivered.
Yu Chengdong said that the new model has been fully upgraded with an investment of 750 million yuan, with stronger body, chassis and performance, brand-new space design and layout, and smarter driving system and cockpit.
The new M7 in Wenjie has launched five models, with the price range of RMB249,800 to RMB329,800. This price adjustment has lowered M7 by 40,000 yuan compared with the price reduction in January. The starting price of the new car is 70 thousand yuan lower than the previous version.
The appearance of the new M7 continues the design features of the previous generation, especially the front part, which adopts a brand-new low wind resistance design. After a small adjustment, the front face presents a three-layer air intake grille design, which makes the whole front face look more layered.
In addition, the high-profile model of the five-seat version of the M7 is also equipped with a laser radar, and the HUAWEI ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving system is applied, which further improves the driving experience and safety performance.
As a medium and large SUV, the new M7 has a body size of 5020mm (length) x 1945mm (width) x 1760mm (height) and a wheelbase of 2820mm. In addition to fine-tuning the height of the car body, other aspects are completely consistent with the current models.
The interior style of the new M7 keeps a minimalist design, and the steering wheel color is fine-tuned to keep consistent with the overall interior color. Equipped with a 10.25-inch curved LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch central control panel, the center console and door panel are made of high-quality micro-velvet material, and the overall material is upgraded to a higher level, which enhances the quality of the interior.
HarmonyOS Intelligent Cockpit 3.0 is also a highlight of the new M7. Brand-new theme design, adding a variety of exquisite screen savers, adding a lot of color to the interior space. With the addition of the super desktop function, the connection of mobile terminal applications in HarmonyOS becomes more convenient, and the user’s mobile phone interconnection experience is improved.
Even in the case of poor signal, Xiaoyi Voice Assistant can provide offline voice navigation function, which ensures a convenient use experience in all situations.
The high-end version is equipped with HUAWEI ADS 2.0 advanced intelligent driving system, which is equipped with overhead lidar, 3 millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition visual perception cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars with 27 sensing hardware.
Through these super hardware configurations, the M7 can realize intelligent driving on expressways and urban areas without relying on high-precision maps. It is expected that the NCA in the urban area will be "open all over the country" in December this year.
In addition, the system has realized the omnidirectional and lateral anti-collision ability, and the maximum braking speed of AEB (automatic emergency braking) has increased to 90 km/h. In addition, the system also supports parking service and ultra-narrow parking spaces, which provides more convenience for drivers.
The new M7 has undergone all-round body structure and safety upgrade, and adopted submarine-grade high-strength steel and CBS composite body material to realize the cage body design. The submarine-grade hot-formed steel accounts for 24.4% of the whole vehicle, which can bear 17 tons per square centimeter.
The proportion of high-strength steel and aluminum alloy in the whole vehicle is as high as 80.6%. These upgrading measures have greatly improved the structural safety of the car body and provided higher safety guarantee for passengers.
The five-seat version of the new M7 fits the hot spot in the market, with ample space in the second row, and the seat comfort is further improved. Ventilation, heating and massage functions have become standard for four seats, greatly improving the enjoyment of riding. The rear air conditioning control panel is updated with intuitive LCD touch, which is more convenient to operate and provides passengers with a more intelligent ride experience.
MagLink interface has been added in the back row, which can supplement Huawei’s flat panels and support suspension through the official docking station. Passengers in the back row can use two Huawei flat panels at the same time, realizing the convenient function of multi-device linkage. This design takes into account the use of multiple devices and improves the intelligent interconnection experience in the car.
The new M7 is excellent in space, with a standard trunk volume of 686L, which can easily accommodate 12 20-inch boarding boxes.
If the two rows of seats are laid down and connected with the trunk, the maximum loading space can be expanded to 1619L, which is enough to accommodate 30 20-inch trunks. This design takes into account the practical needs when traveling and carrying a large number of items.
The five-seat version has 29 storage spaces, and a 52L compartment is specially designed to fully consider the storage of valuables.
In terms of power, the new M7 is equipped with HUAWEI DriveONE extended-range electric drive platform, equipped with a 1.5T engine and a maximum power of 112kW. The four-wheel drive version has a 100-kilometer acceleration of 4.8 seconds, a pure battery life of 240km and a comprehensive battery life of 1300km. In addition, the fuel consumption is as low as 5.6L/100km under the feed condition.
In order to improve driving performance, the new M7 has upgraded the HUAWEID ATSTM 2.0 dynamic adaptive torque system, and at the same time, the front and rear suspension double FSD variable damping shock absorbers have also been optimized, making the driving experience smoother.
The new model M7 has introduced five versions, obviously targeting the competitors of the ideal L7. M7 takes advantage of more cost-effective price and leading intelligent driving technology.
However, its design has been controversial in the past. Despite a lot of internal upgrades, there is no obvious change in appearance. Compared with the ideal L7, it lacks some sense of technology and luxury, which may be the place that M7 needs to improve.
Although it is "far ahead" in intelligent driving, the M5 intelligent driving version launched this year has not significantly improved the overall sales performance of the industry. This year, the average monthly sales volume of the two models in the world is only about 5,000, which is far from the ideal monthly sales volume of 30,000+. We can still look forward to whether the new M7 can be recognized by the market when it goes on the market!
